HU100 ignition lock removal tool
A dedicated service tool for removing HU100 side-milled ignition lock cylinders
on GM vehicles. It is used by locksmiths and technicians to extract a seized or failed ignition
cylinder without dismantling the steering column.
NOT A UNIVERSAL TOOL
This tool works only on the HU100 keyway. It will not fit older GM wafer
ignitions, non-GM vehicles, or GM models that use a different keyway. Ordering it for a
non-HU100 ignition is the single most common reason this item is returned.
How to recognise an HU100 blade
Look at your existing key. An HU100 key is side-milled (also called laser-cut or
sidewinder): the cutting is a wavy groove milled along the flat face of the blade, and the blade
is the same shape whichever way up you insert it. If your key instead has saw-tooth notches cut
into its edges, it is not HU100 and this tool will not fit.
